Premium Motorsports announced their 2017-2018 plans today, for Daytona and beyond. The team has officially purchased Cindi Warner Racing’s #36 team, and will use the available chassis to start out the season. The team will also have a technical alliance with Ben Smith Racing. As a result, Cindi Warner’s team will reduce to a single car.
The team will run two cars, the #62 and #66, with the #62 running full time, while the #66 will be a part-time team.
Courtney Schley will drive the #62 in the Daytona 500 with Shore Lodge sponsorship. Kayla Lanier will drive the #66 in the Daytona 500 with sponsorship from Crazy Vapors. After Daytona, Lanier will take over the #62 full time, running for Rookie of the Year. Other drivers for the #66 have yet to be announced.
Slugger Labbe will be Schley’s crew chief for the Daytona 500, and the pair of them will return to the #33 team and run a limited schedule there.
Meanwhile, Zach McGowan will be Lanier’s crew chief starting at Atlanta. Lanier’s Daytona 500 crew chief will be Scott Eggleston.
The team’s announcement did not, however, mention use of car number 49, which attempted a couple races late in 2014a.
